Madonna has apologized for the racial slur she used in the caption of a recent Instagram shot. The pop icon has been getting into social media recently, but she seems to have forgotten the basic rule: once something is out, you can’t take it back.
This was just days after Madonna last got into trouble over an Instagram shot of her underage son with a bottle of gin.
According to billboard, it was on Friday that Madge posted the photo with the offending caption. It was a shot of her son Rocco, sparring in a boxing ring. It was harmless enough, but Madonna captioned the photo with “"No one messes with Dirty Soap! Mama said knock you out It wasn't the most appropriate word choice for a white, 55-year-old pop singer.
Perhaps she has had some PR counseling since then, however, because not a full day later, an apology was issued, stating that “there is no way to defend the use of the word.”
And that should be the end of that. Childhood photos never used to be this much trouble before the advent of social media.
Since her apology, the online backlash has mostly died down
